Greece - Day ?? - Farewell Santorini
October 5, 2008 | Filed Under Uncategorized
Leaving Santorini today for Athens. Fly out tomorrow for Seattle via Paris … Seattle via Paris, just doesn’t work somehow. Anyway, took a few pictures yesterday as the sea threw itself against the fishing village of Ammoudhi which, as locals tell us, has never happened before at this time of year … hmmm, seeing that everywhere aren’t we … cheers to Greece …
cheers, tom

beautiful, thanks for sharing, I live here and you see it differently but just as lovely
thanks Deborah :)) you live on Thira? I wonder how it is changing and the impact of tourism. We saw many changes in Ia in just two years, just a bit more touristy. I wish we had more time to explore more of the island, like Pyrgos and other villages. Next time perhaps :))
Thank you again for your comment, would love to hear more about Thira from a resident. As you can see I am more interested in how people live than making postcards, even when I am on vacation ;-)
cheers, tom
I found your blog through a link on The Sun’s contributor page. It has been over 10 years since I visited Greece while in the Navy and I cannot wait to get back with my new camera in hand…I was using a Pentax K1000 back then! Your images capture the area as it is meant to be seen, not how it is seen in a glossy postcard. I long to focus exactly on the type of photography you presented in your Greece series. Absolutely beautiful work!
